 What is the difference?

Hi-Proof Ingredients:

Makes 6-12 individual servings 1 Family size package (13.7 oz) of Vanilla Hi-proof Baking Mix 6 TBS of club soda or water 1/4 cup tequila 1/4 cup orange juice 1/4 cup grenadine For Two Under the Influence (2 servings) Use 1 TUI size package (4.6 oz) of Vanilla Hi-Proof Baking Mix 2 TBSP of club soda or water 2 TBSP tequila 2 TBSP of orange juice drops of grenadine

 

Hi-Proof Directions:

Preheat oven to 325 degrees Combine Vanilla Hi-proof Baking Mix in a bowl with tequila and orange juice Mix until light and fluffy - at least 3 minutes up to 4 minutes. Line molds with baking paper or spray molds with non-stick baking spray. Pour batter into molds. Now drizzle some grenadine on each mold. Let swirl naturally or swirl in with toothpick. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until top sponges back. Remove from oven. Optionally drizzle the tops with tequila.

Lo-Proof Ingredients:

Makes 12-24 individual servings 1 18 oz package of yellow cake mix 4 eggs 1/4 cup oil 1 3.5 oz pkg of instant vanilla pudding 1/4 cup tequila 1/2 cup orange juice 1/4 cup grenadine

 

Lo-Proof Directions:

NOTE THIS IS A TWO TONE CAKE THAT REQUIRES TWO BOWLS. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat eggs with a blender. Add all other ingredients EXCEPT the grenadine. Mix for 4-5 minutes to aerate the batter. Now pour approximately 1/2 the batter into a separate bowl. Mix in the grenadine to this bowl to create uniform red consistency. Spray molds with non-stick oil or line with baking cups. Fill 1/2 of each mold with orange colored batter. Then top off each mold with red colored batter. Let swirl naturally or use a thin knife or toothpick to swirl. Bake for 24-27 minutes until top sponges back. NOTE: Smaller molds take less time. Remove from oven. Optionally drizzle the top with tequila.

Presentation

A tequila glaze from 1 cup powdered sugar and 3 TBSP tequila is a simple, classic complement to this sweet. Alternatively create a beautiful sunset by making two buttercreams and swirling them together before spreading on the treat. In a bowl whip together 1 cup powdered sugar and 1 cup softened butter or margarine. Split this into two equal portions. In one portion add 1 TSBP tequila. In the other 1 TSBP grenadine. Gently recombine or frost each cake with 1/2 of each.
