Honey Whiskey and Pecan Boozy Biscuit

This sweet and salty biscuit is a great complement to hearty breakfasts or BBQ meals.  The sweet honey whiskey, nutty pecan and salty biscuit creates a mouth watering and satisfying treat.

 What is the difference?

Hi-Proof Ingredients:

Makes 12 individual servings 

2 1/2 C Biscuit Mix

1/3 C milk

1 C honey whiskey divided into 1/3 C and 2/3 C for the topping

2/3 C chopped pecans

3 TBSP brown sugar (for topping)

2 TBSP butter or margarine (for topping)

 

Hi-Proof Directions:

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Combine biscuit mix, milk, 1/3 C of the honey whiskey, 1/3 C of the chopped pecans in a large bowl and mix until it forms a ball.

Divided the dough into 12 small balls

Place each ball into a martini or margarita mold

Bake for 7-8 minutes until tops are brown

Remove from oven temporarily and spoon topping on top of each biscuit.  Place back in the oven for 1-2 minutes to harden the topping.

Presentation

This pecan whiskey glaze adds a nice candy texture to the top of each biscuit, along with some great flavor.

Heat up a small frying pan.  Melt butter or margarine.  Add the remaining pecans and saute for 1-2 minutes to soften them a bit.

Add brown sugar and heat till melted and thick.

Gradually add the honey whiskey (or water).  Let boil and simmer till it thickens to a nice syrup.  Let cool a bit before spooning on to the biscuits.
